Today is our anniversary. 10 years! That is just amazing to me. In some ways it seems like it’s been a short time, and in others like we’ve been together forever. 10 years and 2 wonderful kids later, I wouldn’t change a thing. I am a lucky woman.

And it goes without saying that Mark is the luckiest guy on the planet, doesn’t it??

Our anniversary and all its mushiness probably deserves a post of it’s own, but I feel like crap and this is all you get. Besides, I’m not that mushy. Why do I feel like crap? Why, it’s time for my semi-annual bout of bronchitis, yippppeeeee! My doc is out all week, unfortunately, but they’ve called in a rx for me anyway.

We shall blame the boy for bringing home germy day care cooties.

Mark’s mom had hip replacement surgery last week, and seems to be doing quite well. We’re glad about that. It sucks to be in pain. Mark’s sis is in town this week to help take care of their mom. We haven’t gotten to see her much, or at least I haven’t, but it’s a busy time.

I want this book, found via Agnostic Mom.

My folks left today for Florida, and I always miss them when they’re gone.

Vacation planning is coming along. Lodging has been booked (a 2 bedroom apartment on one level at Carr’s Cottages, right beside the playground and about 150 yards from the pool), so now we just have to have some activities at the ready to keep the kids entertained. I’m not a fan of scheduling every minute, but there are some things we definitely want to check out. I somehow got on a mailing list for Gatlinburg info, and just about every day some brochure comes in. I’m developing quite a stack! Lauren wants to go horseback riding and hiking, and I believe I’ve found a riding stable within walking distance of our lodging. And I think she’d prefer a guided hike like this to just wandering around in the woods with me. I am soooooooooo not knowledgeable about the outdoors, and knowing my girl, I think she’d like to learn while she’s having fun. She’s also very interested in the aquarium and the alpine slide, of course!

Speaking of, Lauren is back at school after spring break, and seems to be enjoying it. We got this book for her to fill out an Amazon order, and have since bought the rest in this series since she liked it so much. She’s pretty much flying through the set, along with a dozen books from the library, and a stack of books that Aunt Kirsten brought her. Plus, of course, she already had a bookcase full of books in her room. We raise readers in this house!

Sam likes to read too, or at least he pretends to read. I’ll often find him sitting on the floor in his room, looking at a book and babbling away. Of course, he loves to have his sister read to him, or Mommy or Daddy. He’ll bring us books and climb up in our lap for a reading and snuggling session at any time. He has his 18 month check up coming up on Monday, which is my birthday. What a fun way to spend my birthday. At least this should be his last immunization for a while. I hate those, although he’s generally a little trooper. He’s such a funny little guy. He got really mad at me for taking something away from him yesterday morning, and drew back his hand to hit me. I told him “No, we don’t hit people” and he stepped back, looked at the wall, glared at me, and hit the wall. Then he thought that was kind of funny, so he went down the hallway hitting all the surfaces, still glaring at me the whole time. Dude, whatever gets your frustration out . . .

I realized yesterday that my phone was on silent, and I have literally no idea how long that’s been the case. Uhhh, oops. I’ve missed a few calls, it seems.

Clearly, I shouldn’t be allowed to have a cell phone – I’m just not competent enough.

Happy Anniversary on the big 10th! I can still remember those days when you first started dating; who would’ve thought that all these years later you’d be happily married with 2 awesome kids. Life sure works out great some times!

    Love you both!
