In the immortal words of my husband . . .
Yesterday, we discovered that the little brother of one of Lauren’s good friends is now in Sam’s class at preschool. This is cool. If they are friendly, we were thinking we’d like to have them both of them over for a play date with our kids.
So we were in the dining room eating dinner, and were getting tired of playing I Spy. So I asked Sam about the kid, to see if they get along. Here’s how it went:
Me: So do you know Jackson, from school?
Sam: Yay-uh (every word has at least 2 or 3 syllables)
Me: What do you think of him?
Sam (cocking his head to one side, as if giving consideration to the question): He’s . . . pretty cute.
We all nearly fell on the floor laughing. Which resulted in Sam saying it over and over and over, because if he gets a laugh once, he figures it’s good for 10 or 12 more repetitions.
It turns out that Sam also thinks Jackson is nice, and friendly. So we’ll have a play date soon, I think.
